Our Story
From Seoul to Your Collection
A childhood passion. A year in Korea. Direct connections across Asia. This is how Uturi Trading was born.
Chapter I
The Spark
Charles discovered Pokémon as a child. Not through a screen or a trend — through a Game Boy and a blue cartridge. Pokémon Blue became his first reading teacher. Syllable after syllable, battle after battle, he learned to read by playing.
But it was his grandmother who planted the real seed. A simple deal between them: a walk together, a little time shared — and in return, a booster pack. That ritual became sacred. The joy of opening a booster. The warmth of a moment together. A double happiness that, at the time, felt like the most natural thing in the world.
It's only much later, when you look back, that you understand the real value of those moments. The cards fade. The memory stays.
A walk with grandma. A booster pack earned. The thrill of tearing the wrapper. You don't realize it then — those small moments become the ones you carry forever.
Chapter II
The Rediscovery
Years later, Charles spent a year in South Korea. A country that would become his second home — and where everything began again.
In the streets of Seoul, between Myeongdong and Hongdae, Charles discovered a Pokémon market unlike anything in Europe. Lower prices. Less tension. More joy. Here, opening a display wasn't a calculated investment — it was pure, simple pleasure.
That childhood feeling came rushing back. The excitement of tearing open a booster. The thrill of discovering a rare card. Korea gave him back what Europe's overheated market had almost taken away.
Charles still goes back regularly. He has family there. Deep roots. And over the years, he's built direct relationships with Korean suppliers and distributors — real connections, not cold emails.

Chapter III
Alexandre & the Hong Kong Connection
Uturi Trading is a family story. Charles's brother, Alexandre Ortuno, lives in Hong Kong — one of Asia's most strategic hubs for the TCG market.
From Hong Kong, Alexandre has direct access to Chinese Pokémon products and Japanese One Piece distribution. Bandai, the publisher behind One Piece Card Game, has a strong presence there — and Alexandre knows the market from the inside, as a competitive player himself.
This dual presence — Seoul and Hong Kong — is what sets Uturi Trading apart. Two brothers, two cities, two markets. One shared passion.

Where One Piece Meets Its Players
Alexandre doesn't just source One Piece — he plays competitively. That player's eye shapes every product we select: we know what matters because we open, play, and collect ourselves.
